South Carolina Drought Status - SEVERE FOR ALL COUNTIES

The SC Department of Natural Resources has upgraded the drought status from moderate to severe. The state did not receive the winter rainfall that is crucial in recharging our surface and groundwater supplies.
The Town of Sharon owns and operates our own water system and therefore is asking that everyone remain vigilant in conserving the town’s water supply. Non-essential water uses such as excessive watering of flowers and gardens, filling of pools and washing of cars should cease at this time.
These conservation measures are critical to protecting the local water supply and reducing the risk of further restrictions. The Town of Sharon will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.
