Sharon Fire Department ~ Duke Energy HERO Grant Award Recipient

6/19/2026

The Sharon Volunteer Fire Department is grateful to be one of 34 organizations selected for a Duke Energy Foundation 2026 Helping Emergency Response Organizations (HERO) grant award. This funding will allow us to upgrade our current siren and install a second siren at our Hord Road station. These improvements will strengthen public safety by providing additional alerts during severe weather, including tornadoes, within our service area. The sirens will serve as another tool to prompt residents to seek timely information about changing weather conditions and potential threats in our area.

We have attached a link to the Duke Energy Foundation for more information regarding the HERO grant.
